Attende, Domine, et Miserere
Pope Benedict XVI blessing ashes on Ash Wednesday, February 17th, 2010, and the simple but lovely chant Attende Domini. I have always admired how well the music fits the meaning in this hymn. It is also a good way to start the penitential season that begins next week: "Heed me Lord, and have mercy, for we have sinned against you."
Attende Domine, et miserere, quia peccavimus tibi.
